ZyncView uses an engaging dichoptic shooting game to stimulate and strengthen the weaker eye — making vision therapy something you actually look forward to.
Understanding the Condition
Amblyopia — commonly called "lazy eye" — is the most common cause of visual impairment in children. The brain favours one eye, causing the other to weaken over time. Without treatment, this imbalance can persist into adulthood.
Unequal focus between the two eyes (anisometropia), a misaligned eye (strabismus), or early visual deprivation. The brain suppresses the signal from the weaker eye.
The visual system is most plastic during childhood. Treatment before age 8 is most effective, but emerging research shows meaningful improvement is possible in older patients and adults too.
Patching (covering the strong eye) and atropine drops are standard — but often uncomfortable and unpopular with children. Dichoptic therapy offers an engaging, evidence-based alternative.
The Science of Play
Our game uses the dichoptic training technique — presenting different contrasts to each eye — to encourage both eyes to work together, retraining the brain to reduce suppression of the weaker eye.
Red targets (strong eye) and blue player (weak eye) are shown at independently controlled brightness levels — calibrated for each player at setup.
As you play, contrast levels reduce over time — gently pushing the visual system to maintain binocular fusion under increasing demand.
Repeated sessions reinforce new neural pathways. Studies show dichoptic gaming can reduce suppression and improve visual acuity in the amblyopic eye.
Got Questions?
ZyncView is designed for children and adults with amblyopia. It is most effective for users aged 4–17, but adults may also benefit. Always consult your eye care professional before starting a treatment programme.
We recommend 10–20 minutes of play per day, 5 days a week. Consistent daily sessions produce better outcomes than longer, infrequent sessions.
The game currently uses contrast-based dichoptic stimulation viewable on any standard screen — no special glasses required. Advanced anaglyph and VR modes are in development.
No. ZyncView is a supplementary therapy tool and is not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. Use it alongside, not instead of, your eye care professional's plan.
