To provide a tailored vision therapy experience and track your progress, we collect and store the following data categories:
- Account Details: First name, last name, and email address (securely managed and provided through our authentication partner, Clerk).
- Demographics: Date of birth and sex (required to calibrate and customize visual exercise metrics).
- Vision/Prescription Data: Sphere (SPH), Cylinder (CYL), Axis, and the derived weak or strong eye status.
- Therapy Progress Data: Game session scores, playtime duration (minutes played), target brightness calibrations, and game progress percentages.
3. Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing
We process your information under the following legal bases:
- Your Explicit Consent: By signing up, completing onboarding, and using the games, you consent to us storing and evaluating your vision and session progress.
- Performance of Service: To calculate your therapy charts, track play streaks, and link your account with your supervising eye doctor or clinic (if you choose to enter a Clinic Code).
- Legitimate Interests: To monitor and optimize application performance, prevent abuse, provide user support, and analyze/evaluate the therapeutic efficacy, scores, and visual progress metrics of our exercises to improve ZyncView’s game mechanics and clinical value.
4. Data Sharing and Clinic Association
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Your data is shared strictly under the following conditions:
- Your Clinic/Doctor: If you explicitly enter a Clinic Code during onboarding, your profile and progress charts are shared with the doctors associated with that specific clinic so they can monitor your therapy.
- Infrastructure Partners: We use industry-standard cloud and auth services (like AWS Lambda, Supabase, and Clerk) to host database tables and authenticate sessions securely.
5. Your GDPR Rights
Under the GDPR, you have full control over your personal data. You are entitled to exercise the following rights at any time:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal and vision data we store about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can update your prescription details directly in your profile, or ask us to correct any inaccurate information.
- Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You can request that we permanently delete your account and all associated vision/play history.
- Right to Portability: You can request a download of your play sessions and profile details.
